Dragon Ridge is based on an old Xbox 360 map the players hated mainly because of tanks had a rough time traversing the steep rice paddy hills. It was a joy to work on because it's was so challenging. I was assigned to tone those steep hills down in order for the player to have a much more pleasant time driving over them which greatly improved gameplay. This was one of those maps I felt proud finishing because of it’s large size and the heavy tasks demanded.
I was in charge of enhancing the lighting, mood, and forwarding additional polish such as painting down culturals, terrain textures, and visual effects (VFX) to the playspace. I would then successfully convert all Xbox 360 assets to the standard Xbox One PBR updates.
In terms of the high quality game assets they were outsourced from Kiev. When the time came to converting PC asset to console I would assist the art lead in managing the assets then import them throughout the map. Although I would create custom assets if outsourcing was busy or if time provided.
Most of the work done normally is team based and I made sure to seek advice when available from other colleagues for a critical review of the map.
